Fruits de Mer Records - Psychedelia, Krautrock, Progressive Rock, Acid-Folk, R&B, Spacerock and Vinyl Heaven

a couple of years ago, we ran a club competition asking members to suggest tracks recorded by our psych/prog/rock favourites before they became household names (well, in the FdM household, anyway)...

Sadly but appropriately, we'll start with three tracks suggested before the news of Lemmy's death; thanks to Craig Palmer and Chris Purdon...

Elsewhere, we've received suggestions from Kev Shepherd (Taiconderoga, with a pre-Damned Brian James), Adam Wheway (Ambrose Slade, covering Zappa!) and Stephen Young (with some early Hendrix and some VERY early Jim Morrison!)

Barry Saranchuk offered up a Wurm-like Bodast, Gary Faber came up with The Moving Sidewalks featuring ZZ Tops's Billy Gibbons, Robert Musgrove picked a rather addled Brain (with King Crimson's Pete Giles) and Chris Dale shocked me with a version of Kathy Kirby's 'Secret Love' I'd never heard before, including a secret guitarist in Jimmy Page!

Craig Palmer showed his age with a great bunch of suggestions, including The Outlaws with Ritchie Blackmore, The Craig with Carl Palmer and Reed and Cale in The Primitives, while Luke Lands remembers Jean Michel Jarre when he was a Dustbin...:

Stev Tongs offered an old Mason/Capaldi composition, Dewi Roberts remembered Dave Brock's blues roots, Nigel Young found an early David Crosby appearance and Theo Hassenewert harked back to David Bowie's schooldays...

here's pre-AC/DC Bon Scott, pre-Jefferson Airplane Grace Slick, pre-Slade Ambrose Slade and pre-Can Inner Space (thanks to Zil Bareisis, Robert Musgrove, Dave Bond and Till Wolff)...

how about Robert Plant, Ian Matthews, Ralf & Florian, and finally - for now at least - Jeremy Irons and some other Cant (from Craig Palmer, Dave Smith, Till Wolff and Chris Bembridge):

help spread the word!
