Fruits de Mer Records - Psychedelia, Krautrock, Progressive Rock, Acid-Folk, R&B, Spacerock and Vinyl Heaven

Re-entry....Wikipedia says, "...the genre regained attention in the late 1980s and early 1990s with the rise of alternative rock bands such as such as Failure, Hum, Flying Saucer Attack, Orange Goblin, and Spacemen 3, that drew from earlier psychedelic and shoegaze influences to create a more ambient sound, with some also being influenced by contemporaneous stoner rock or desert rock bands. The term was revived in the 21st century to refer to a new crop of bands including The Flowers of Hell, Comets on Fire, Flotation Toy Warning, Caelum's Edge and Angels and Airwaves who diversely draw upon the ideas and sounds of both waves of the genre's founders.”

Our excuse for asking FdM club members to recommend spacerock tracks from the last 50 years is that Moon Goose have 'Moon' in their band name and we'll be sharing some of their suggestions with you over the next couple of weeks...hope you like at least some of them.
From the legendary to the..er...not-so-legendary - but always worth a listen, if you don't find at least a couple of tracks and bands that surprise you in a good way, I'll eat my spacedust

Let's start SPACEROCK 2 with suggestions from David Smith, who trawled a few black holes to find these......

Chris Dale, Jorge Monroig, Alan Pearson and Pete Banahan searched a little closer to home...

Kevin Chown, Nik Williams, Allan Walton and Dr. Floyd share some of their favourites...

...as do Timelord Michalis, Andy Thomas and Christopher Majewicz have been digging deep, while Pete Bowman should hang his head in shame...

Glen Radford, Nick Campbell, Carl Schalck and Iain Davie share their own visions of spacerock...

Zil Bareisis heads to Europe (West and East) with three choices and Glen Howell rightly volunteers a (if not THE) classic...

...while Till Wolff can always be relied on to come up with a mix of the classic and unexpected...

and Dale Everett, Robert Camassa, Nigel Vernon and Carl Schalck add some new names into the mix....

...as do Seamus Nash, Mark Winkelmann (with two suggestions) and Chris Purdon...
