FdM BANDS - LIVE AND ON RECORD

FdM bands - past, present and future

We'll do our best to give you a low-down on what some of Fruits de Mer's favourite bands are up to, away from our own labels.

We're not responsible for the releases and we're not involved in the gigs, so do your own investigating before spending your hard-earned dosh, but we like to try to help spread the word
...and if you're aware of any releases or gigs we should be listing - please let us know!

NEW RELEASES

Vibravoid

Germany's leading psych rock band have two new releases coming up in the next few weeks - 'Gravity Zero' (LP and CD), a new album, featuring a couple of tracks you might recognize from Fruits de Mer releases - and 'Void Vibration' (vinyl-only double LP), a very limited re-release of their first album, in a wild cover! Find out more at www.vibravoid.com

Cranium Pie

Cranium Pie's private-pressing, numbered CD of 'Geometry Of Thistles', their pre-'Mechanisms' recordings is now on sale - with a vinyl version to follow very soon (advance orders being taken) - order now direct from the Cranium Pie website to avoid disappointment! Geometry Of Thistles

Hi-Fiction Science

have a new CD out. Although it's not released by us, it DOES include their brilliant version of the Third Ear Band's 'Fleance', which appeared on our 2011 Annual, and all manner of other good stuff. The album can be purchased from Norman Records (tell them Fruits de Mer sent you!) and, although we don't really believe in such things round here, is available to download from www.hifictionscience.bandcamp.com

Beau

Sky Picnic

Their excellent first LP 'Farther In This Fairy Tale' is out now on Nasoni Records

Dead Sea Apes

the long-awaited Astral House EP is very nearly finished. The official follow-up to their debut single Soy Dios, it will feature three substantial chunks of rock action: old favourites Astral House and Bikini Atoll, and the relatively new song Dead Fingers Talk, which began life as part of our improvised gig with Damo Suzuki last December. The band will be releasing this on their own Soul Desert label as a limited edition CDr, with high-quality downloads available via Bandcamp.

plus....a special project for US micro-label Deep Water Acres, entitled Lupus, for which we followed a drone / loop / improvisation approach with advanced editing and overdubbing to create three lengthy pieces of brooding intensity, interspersed with shorter extracts from the initial sessions. This will likely be released in the new year.

The Bordellos

have a new album available on - shock, horror - download!!! But it's FREE so we forgive them - head to:
http://bordellos.bandcamp.com/album/its-lo-fi-folk-off

The Gentry Underground
