Fruits de Mer Records - Psychedelia, Krautrock, Progressive Rock, Acid-Folk, R&B, Spacerock and Vinyl Heaven

another members club competition in 2016 asked for suggestions for the most weird and wonderful covers they could find - psyched-up reworks of 'normal' songs and mainstream versions of psychedelic classics... Here are just a few...

several club members suggested Beatles tracks by Lord Sitar and William Shatner, but probably only Craig Palmer would have come up with The Butthole Surfers doing Donovan...

Dave Smith claims to have heard an Argentinian version of 'Strawberry Fields' in a French bar, Mike Simpson was clearly off his gourd raving to 'White Rabbit', but god only knows how Robert Simpson came across a Tuvinian throat-singing version of 'In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida'...

Reinhard Probst and Jon soden continued the Iron Butterfly connection, while Stathis Paraskevopoulos headed to Indonesia for a Nancy Sinatra cover

Ian Coleman found another take on 'White Rabbit', Steve Tansey offered this mauling of an early Beatles song and Steve Tongs found an altogether different way to destroy The Beatles...

Steve Tansey inflicted more pain with this Kinks cover, Stephen Young made it even worse with this massacring of 'Apache', thank goodness Rich Clarke brought some sanity back into proceedings with Frank Sidebottom...

Andy Pernet found a Brazilian version of The Seeds' classic - but it's a bit too good really! Keith Dodd was the only club member to come up with a 'Louie Louise' cover, and Connie insisted i include this Lard cover...

Knut Tore Breivik found a Japanese version of 'Hey Joe', I'm sure i've encountered Theo Hassenewert's drummer before, here he's making a spectacle of himself in a version of the ZZ Top song (he seems to be vogueing and drumming at the same time), and Alexis Sidiras came up with a wild version of 'I'm A Man'...in Greek.
